So my sister and her husband watched this wonderful documentary and she couldn't wait to share all that she had learned from it. The documentary follows a man named Joe Cross in his journey to lose weight and his journey to lose his dependance on medication due to his autoimmune disease. He goes on a Juice Fast for 60 days in which he is traveling across America sharing his story. He encourages people along the way to try a Juice Fast not necessarily to lose weight but to Reboot their system and detox their body. I have a hard time when it comes to food because I love it so much so I didn't think that there was any way that I would be able to do it but my sister and her husband both were.
After they had been doing it for about 4 days I decided I would try it. Not for 60 days (God I would die lol) but I decided 2 weeks would be a good number for me. Currently I am on Day 3 and I am feeling good. The documentary had warned that the first 3 days are brutal and that Joe was best in bed. But surprisingly after the first day it all got much easier. I am actually enjoying cleansing my body and looking forward to making permanent changes once I am done with the fast. I definitely wouldn't be able to do it alone. It has its up and downs, and you do get hungry (or at least think your hungry). But having my sister encourage me and my dad encourage me has really helped. I'm excited to see what happens.
I watched Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead on Netflix, so if you have Netflix look it up and take the time to watch it. It will really open your eyes to how you are treating your body.
